I tried out a 17p hack to clean my shower head, the results were so gross but it means it worked | The Irish Sun

THERE are lots of cleaning tasks we'd rather put off than deal with - and cleaning the shower head is one of them.

But one woman tried a viral hack to get her shower head clean without scrubbing and was stunned by the results.

TikToker Kirsten, from the US, saw a hack of a man using a sandwich bag and white vinegar to soak his shower head.

And she was left stunned by the amount of limescale and dirt that was seen floating in the bag - so decided to give it a go herself.

First, Kirsten took a sandwich bag and filled it up with white vinegar.

She then attached the sandwich bag to the shower head using a bandana before leaving it overnight.

She then posted an update of the cleaning hack on her account, Creepy Kiki, after leaving the bag of vinegar on her shower head for 12 hours.

Kirsten said: "Let's go see what it looks like."

She then zooms the camera in on the bag and says "It looks pretty clear," before moving the bag around.

But she was left stunned when she shacked the bag and could see bits of limescale and dirt moving around the water.

"EWW," she exclaimed before adding: "Oh my god what is that?"

She continued: "Oh my god, this is so freaking gross, I can just see these chunks, ew.

"I mean luckily, not as gross as the other video, but still pretty nasty."

Kirsten added that her shower head did look way cleaner after doing the hack.

"Thank goodness it wasn’t that gross! Idk if I could shower again if it were," she captioned the post.

You can try the hack yourself by getting a 20-pack of sandwich bags for £1.65 at Tesco, and a 568ml bottle of white vinegar for 38p.

If you used half the bottle of vinegar to fill the bag, and just one of the bags per hack, it would cost around 17p to do.
