Back to strong winds: Temperatures in New Jersey became 25 degrees colder on Friday

The temperature on Thursday afternoon was as high as 74 degrees—very warm and barely broke records.

Unfortunately, the temperature on Friday afternoon will be limited to more than 40 degrees. Indeed, it is a full 25 degrees lower than just 24 hours ago.

So this is a story of cold, cold, and below-normal temperatures. Of course, there is less than a week before Thanksgiving. From now to then, there is a storm system in the forecast. But please ignore the hype there-for New Jersey, this looks more like nonsense than a big deal.

After the rain ended on Friday morning, colder air began to invade the atmosphere of New Jersey again. At the time of writing (5:30 AM), the temperature west of the New Jersey Turnpike has dropped to more than 30 degrees of cold weather. In the south and east, we have entered the 1940s. Not necessarily “cold” (especially according to the mid-November standard). But we are obviously back to jacket weather.

The biggest problem is that the temperature on Friday afternoon does not change much. We will see more than 40 years old at most. (For some people, this will be the "high temperature" of the day. For others, technically not, because the thermometer stays at a higher level until the temperature drops in the early morning.) This is about 7 degrees below the seasonal normal value .

The sky will be mostly sunny. If it is not a strong wind, the wind speed will be a breeze. The northwest wind blows at a speed of more than 20 miles per hour, especially in the early days.

The only chance of precipitation is a lingering lake-effect snow shower reaching the far north of Jersey.

On Friday night, almost the entire state went back to the frost/freeze zone. The overnight low temperature averages below 30 years old, and about 20 years old in cold places. Clear sky, calm wind, quiet weather.

We entered the weekend with another quiet, cold day. The sky will be clear from morning to cloud at night. The high temperature will stay in the upper middle class in their 40s.

In the second half of the weekend, the chill faded slightly. By Sunday afternoon, a cold morning will give way to your 50s. The sky is cloudy most of the time, but our weather will remain quiet and dry for most of the day.

However, our next storm system will begin to approach later in the west on Sunday. As early as Sunday afternoon, we could see showers. Then it is expected that there will be a period of stable rainfall starting from Sunday night.

The storm system next week has already broken off the "hype list." Some concerns are absolutely justified-in the busy tourist season, the threat of any major storm can be catastrophic. However, it has been several days since the model hinted at any type of big, bad, important, multi-impact storm.

That being said, some guidelines are to plot the total rainfall from half an inch to one inch from Sunday night to Monday noon. There may be some heavy objects, causing large puddles and slippery roads. But that's all-for now, we will not sound any alarm bells for bad or cold weather.

The sun came out after the storm system on Monday afternoon. Ahhhh, the temperature started to drop again. Although the day will start in the 50s, we will only see the 40s in the afternoon. Overnight lows can easily fall into their 20s and 30s-I think it's freezing for most people.

As Turkey Day approaches, I see cool temperatures, breeze/high winds and generally calm weather. There may be a few snow showers or even storms coming in-pay attention to this in the middle of the week. Thanksgiving Day looks quite happy and timely, with sunshine and clouds, over 50 years old.
