Taking a hot bath may be one of the most relaxing parts of the day. If you have ever been to a high-end resort or spa and started using rain showers, you will know how this can elevate the experience to a near-excellent level.

Well, in less than 5 minutes of work time and surprisingly low cost, you can bring this spa experience to your own home. Imagine waking up every morning, rushing into the shower, and feeling like you are in a 5-star resort. With rain shower heads, you can achieve this goal.

I have first-hand information because I recently installed one myself, which is one of the best changes I have made to my apartment. Let me show you how I did it so that you can also enjoy this blessing. This is what you need:

Choosing the right rain shower head is very important. You want to make sure it is big enough to make you feel the real rain shower head without the need for the crazy high water pressure that many homes don't have.

One way to solve this problem as much as possible is to choose a high-pressure shower head, such as the 8-inch option from COSYLAND. With its large surface area and included hand shower, this shower head will turn your morning routine into a real spa experience.

Any DIY project at home can be daunting at first, or you might think that you need a variety of tools to accomplish anything. But in fact, installing a shower head is one of the easiest projects you can do at home. You only need one tool: an adjustable wrench.

Many shower heads come with their own wrenches, but I find it better to use your own work-in addition, it will help you get rid of your existing shower heads and play a role in other DIY projects. You decide to participate (trust me, they will Addictive). This 6-inch adjustable wrench from Craftsman is ergonomically designed to help you change the wrench head instantly.

The most important thing to prevent leakage of a new shower head is to seal the threads. The metal on the metal seems to be a very strong barrier, but over time, unless you put something more flexible in it, a leak will form.

This is why you need to add some Teflon tape to the threads. With the benefits of these things (you can buy four rolls for only $6), there is no reason to be stingy. The tape forms a waterproof seal in the thread to prevent leakage now and in the future.

Technically speaking, you don't actually need these items to install your rain shower head. However, when you remove the old shower head, it is best to scrub the pipes and make sure to start with a clean surface.

The threads on the shower pipe are likely to be stuck with old Teflon tape, and will accumulate calcium and lime due to years of use. A few quick sprays of Lime-A-Way bathroom cleaner, and then a few brushes with an electric brush like Rubbermaid, you are ready to use. This will make the overall installation smoother and further prevent those despicable leaks.

Now that you have everything you need to change your showering life, it's time to start. This is all the work needed to install a new rain shower head.

Many people are afraid to buy rain shower heads because they think they do not have enough water pressure to produce all the water. But the interesting thing is that modern rain shower heads actually do not use more water than most standard shower heads.

They are designed in a very flat way, the water just spreads to a larger surface area and is discharged at a higher pressure. Most shower heads require 2 to 3 gallons of flow per minute, and rain shower heads are no exception.

It is very easy to remove the old shower head and it will not take more than a minute or so. Using a monkey wrench, carefully reach the nut between the shower head and the pipe entering the wall. Tighten the wrench and turn it counterclockwise.

After loosening the nut, you should be able to simply unscrew the shower head from the rest by hand. After removing, make sure to check the pipe and pull out the old screen filter (if it still exists).

Then, use your bathroom cleaner and brush to remove all old dirt from the threads of the shower pipe. A clean surface will make the installation of the new head easier and prevent future leaks.

Follow the installation instructions provided with the shower head to ensure that the filter and pressure reducer are installed in the correct position inside the shower head. Wrap several layers of Teflon tape around the threads of the pipe to form a tight seal. Then just rotate the new shower head clockwise to the shower pipe.

The threads used for bathroom fixtures in the United States are standard, so any shower head you buy should be screwed onto existing plumbing without problems (unless your house is very old). Tighten the new head by hand, then turn it a quarter turn with a wrench, that's it.

enjoy! If you are like me, after installing a new shower head, you will want to rush directly into the shower. Let me tell you, the first time showering with a rain shower head changes your life. You will never go back.
