VENTURA, CA — Nestled in the hills between Ventura and Ojai, Johnny Cash's former home listed for $1.79 million, offering a California oasis filled with rock n' roll history.

Cash built the 5-bedroom home in 1961 as an "escape from the raucous fame of his rock 'n roll lifestyle," according to the Redfin listing.

The private, secluded ranch house is at once chic and cozy with exposed brick and wood floors, white and light brown wood ceilings and modern farmhouse furniture. The home features a cozy wood-paneled studio where Cash undoubtedly wrote some of his biggest hits.

The house still features tons of original elements even though the late singer and his family haven't lived in the house since 1970, the Washington Post reported. Among other things, Cash's wall-mounted turntable and grandfather clock remain in the home, the Washington Post reported.

The iconic pad sits on a 5.9-acre plot in Casitas Springs complete with gardens, a pool, a small pool house and an outdoor barbecue area.

Cash's ex-wife sold the house in the early 1970s, the Washington Post reported. Cash died on Sept. 12, 2003.
