On Saturday night, a pregnant woman was shot and killed outside a Philadelphia home while unloading a gift while her baby was taking a shower. The police said they suspected this was a "cowardly" targeted shooting.

The murder of a 32-year-old woman who was seven months pregnant was an all-time high in Philadelphia.

The name of the mother-to-be was not immediately announced. Police officials said she was taken to the Einstein Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The police said the doctor could not save her unborn child.

On Sunday, investigators are working to identify one or more suspects and the motive for the killing.

"The people who do this are so cowardly," Deputy Chief of Police Christine Coulter told ABC Radio WPVI in Philadelphia.

"This (that) happened at the end of my block...enough," McDonald told WPVI. "It's time for this city to do something. Everyone is tired of it. We are (already) tired of it."

Kurt said the city government and police department are "doing what we can." She added: "We can't stop people who want to shoot."
