When I was a kid, we had a huge Chinese Shea tree in the backyard, which was originally a perfect tree house place. I used to pretend that there was a tree house there. I would climb onto a broad branch, lie down, and read a few hours. I have another favorite tree across the road from the cattle ranch, which is a perfect reading spot. I am still looking for such a place among the branches with birds, loneliness, blue sky and cool breeze. There are some unique tree houses in Texas that are amazing! Here are my seven favorite properties, some of which have multiple tree houses, in no particular order.

Skybox Cabins is located on 50 acres of native oak and cedar near Glen Rose, adjacent to Dinosaur Valley State Park, an oasis where you can watch sunrise, sunset and unlimited stars in the dark sky.

The rustic aviary offers countless views and modern facilities from the balcony of the bedroom. Your adventure begins when you climb the stairs to the platform on the nearby tree, and then walk across the cable bridge to enter the bedroom on the second floor. You will find a kitchenette and bathroom under the cedar stairs to the main floor. You will find yourself in the woods with birds, as well as wild turkeys, deer, hares, horses and some cows.

The Nest is a combination tree house, a bohemian bungalow. To enter, follow the rocky path through the portal gate and enter the front porch. See the "nesting" built by cedar harvested from the property.

Hive is the latest addition of a mixed tree house and A-frame style hut, surrounded by a large porch, providing a great meeting place or dining space. Follow the rocky path through the woods and across the wooden walkway. A steep staircase leads to the attic bedroom.

All tree houses are equipped with large beds with electricity, air conditioning, heating, hot water, small refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave, but no TV or Internet, so bring a good book or camera to enjoy nature. The hotel has access control, and the cottage has a key code. For safety reasons, the minimum age for guests is 18 years old. Glamp and Tower can also be used.

Pro tip: Enjoy lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch at the Riverhouse Grill in Glen Rose, which has been family-owned since 2008 and is located in a historic residence one block from the town square.

Surrounded by lavender fields, Savannah's Meadow Treehouse Bed & Breakfast is located in Celeste, north of Greenville. It is a good place for you to stroll through the fairy-tale forest and sleep in the trees.

Go up the ramp, pass the swimming pool and hot tub, and enter the Majestic Oak Treehouse, two or three stories high, where you will find a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living area with a double sofa, chairs and futons, as well as a collection of live trees inside. Relax and read a good book in the floating sky lounge, or gaze at the stars on the deck chairs on the terrace. The master bedroom has a sliding glass wall to bring nature into the room, while the bathroom has a unique shower with forest views. Upstairs, I found a crow's nest with three single beds, surrounded by a tree canopy.

Two to three floors above the ground, take the ramp up to the Bare Creek Hollow Treehouse, where there is a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Relax in the living room with comfy sofas and oversized chairs, or step out the back door and relax on the balcony overlooking the sometimes rushing water of Bare Creek. Upstairs, find a comfortable bedroom with a view of the sunrise in the woods, and a full bed in the attic upstairs, as well as a complete bathroom and shower.
