Ask any local about Verona and they’ll likely tell you it’s centered around three things: love, music, and art. Most of the luxurious rooms feature both a standalone tub and walk-in rain shower and are outfitted with comfortable Simmons mattresses, but it’s the details that make them shine. Above the bed you’ll find intricate handwoven masterpieces by Dedar, a family-run fabric house that dates back to 1976, while custom furnishings are made by Minotti Collezioni. The gorgeous bathrooms are decked out in marble—procured from all around Italy, including Sardinia, Tuscany, and Lombardy—of various colors, including green, slate gray, and orange, and are stocked with plush monogrammed towels by Rivolta Carmignani, natural J.and.C. Cosmetici toiletries, and a vase of eucalyptus and lace leaf set on the sink. It feels like a home, and a very well decorated one, at that.

Above you’ll find a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views of the city. Stop by for an apertivo, then head down the stairs to the hotel’s restaurant, Sottovoce, where the Milanese chef shines a spotlight on ingredients found in the Veneto region. There’s also a robust wine cellar that features 150 different labels, majority of which are from the area, but with at least one vino representing every region of Italy in addition to a few French options as well.

But no stay at Vista Palazzo Verona would be complete without a visit to the full-service spa. The subterranean oasis utilizes Biologique Recherche products, arguably some of the finest on the market. There are standard treatment rooms, but if you really want to be pampered book the private spa suite, a 484-square-foot space complete with a sauna and whirlpool with built-in loungers. Additional facilities in this peaceful enclave include a Turkish bath, an experiential shower with five settings, an ice fountain, and an indoor pool with a hydromassage tub where you’ll also find an ancient Roman well embedded in the wall.

Palazzo Maffei, a private gallery that forges a dialogue between classical and contemporary art, is typically only open on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, but guests of Vista Palazzo Verona can have private access to it during the weekdays. The hotel can also arrange wine tours to nearby vineyards as well as excursions to Lake Garda.
