The main weather news must be "The weather will get cold", but of course it is. It is November and the weather is very mild for a while. We are about to enter winter, and now there are usually more car scratches in the morning and worry about freezing. The cold air swept across the UK on Sunday, risking frost and ice. Beyond that, there is uncertainty, but there are signs that the Arctic may experience a decent drop in cold.

Where's the snow? There was a little snow in a shower in Scotland last night, but only for the top of the mountain, because the north was blowing cold air. The weather will be much milder on Thursday, but it will flow north on Sunday, and early next week the cold air seems to have showers over the highest hills in the UK and the northern coast of Northern Ireland. No matter what you read, this is not a few centimeters of snow. The mountains of Scotland, Mount Antrim, Snowdonia, and the North York Moors were icy showers, hail and sleet, and then as the wind turned, the cold mixture reached the Scottish border and the hills of the Pennines.

The cold weather is not much, but what is striking is the sign of the cold Arctic air pulling in later next week. This seems likely to bring more snow showers. Extending from the north or northeast to the UK, exposed areas are more likely to occur.

Therefore, although we experienced a cold front overnight and did feel cool, there was a warm front coming from the Atlantic Ocean. This will bring rain to the northern regions tonight and night, especially in the west of Scotland, and then the temperature will generally reach 12 to 15 degrees Celsius on Thursday. With the brisk westerly wind, 16 or 17C can be seen in some brighter places in the east. For most people, it is cloudy and gray in the morning and brighter in the afternoon. It was very windy in northern Scotland from Thursday night to early Friday. Friday is still mild, but a cold front from the north on Saturday will start the weekend's changes.

Once the front was pushed south and allowed the cooler Arctic air to flow downwards, the ECMWF model showed that the United Kingdom was affected by the Northwest High. As it capsizes over Scotland and stabilizes the weather here, the current will turn to the northeast. By mid-week, the high pressure in the North Atlantic will return, atmospheric pressure will appear over Scandinavia, and cold airflows will seem to fall into place with snow showers from the north. GFS today is high in the west and low in the center over the UK, so it is not a highway that snows directly from the north.

So far, after a rather dull November, this is enough to excite cold and snow lovers. This is not about the exact date, the definite centimeters of southern snow, or the time to buy extra milk.
