Isolated showers and thunderstorms are forming this evening and will continue into the early overnight hours. While most of the activity will be sub severe, there is a level 1 risk for strong storms in the northwoods. Humidity will continue to climb as we move into the weekend. More rain and thunderstorms are expected to form on Saturday across the state of Wisconsin.

Overnight: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers or storms late.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, breezy, and humid with scattered rain and thunderstorms.

High: 80 Wind: South to SW 10-20

Saturday Night: A lingering shower or storm possible early, then clearing and breezy.

Sunday: Sunny to partly cloudy, blustery, and much cooler. A few sprinkles possible in the Northwoods.

Monday: A very nice day. Mostly sunny and comfortable.

The cold front passing through the area Saturday will bring rain showers and the chance of thunderstorms to Wisconsin. The most likely scenario will be a line of moderate to heavy rain in the morning followed by a mix of dry weather and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. The initial band of rain will push out before noon bit it seems isolated storms could continue as late as 8-9 PM. Afterwards skies will clear out overnight. A half of an inch of rain is expected for most of the News 9 area, however up to an inch or more is possible, especially in the northwoods. Throughout the day on Saturday it will be cloudy, humid and breezy with highs near 80 degrees. Fortunately, while there may be a stray strong storm, no severe weather is expected.

Sunday will be refreshing and much cooler as northwesterly winds keeps our temperatures in the low 70s during the afternoon. There will be a period of cloudiness midday with the chance of sprinkles north but much of the day should contain a good deal of sunshine and dry weather. After this, while cooler than the week before, we return to seasonal weather. Monday will be comfortable, quiet, and sunny with highs in the upper 70s.

There are a few chances of rain next week that are already on our radar, mainly Tuesday and Thursday. Right now it seems both of these chances for rain will be in the afternoon. It is unclear if there will be any strong thunderstorms at this time. Wednesday, like Monday, should be a nice day and warmer with highs in the 80s.

Have a wonderful weekend! Meteorologist Jackson Garlock
