Salone del Mobile organized a special supersalone event from September 5th to September 10th. The following are some notable brands that participated in the physical design scene in Milan after a long pause.

September 2021 will be remembered because the Milan International Furniture Fair opened again after a one-and-a-half year suspension. Although the event is only held in the four pavilions of the Fiera Milano Rho Center, it usually occupies the entire center. However, the participating brands played the game set by the curator Stefano Boeri and displayed them in a gallery-like manner. Up their products.

The following are the brands that caught our attention.

Today, mirrors are not only a symbol of vanity and beauty, but are also designed to be (also) inserted independently between sofas and armchairs, separated or combined, faced or included never mediocre through style research on volume and shape.

This is the case with The Sky mirror designed by Monica Förster for Zanat, which is both a solid wood hand-carved artistic sculpture and a functional object. They can be positioned as a single whole or as a group of two or more units. Sky Mirror floor mirrors come in two shapes (circular or semi-elliptical), each of which has two sizes. The base is available in walnut or maple colors and finishes.

Read our guide to learn how to choose the right mirror.

Zanat also showed a series of unique side tables, which turned into small stools (and vice versa), called Unity. The product is available in two wood variants, black satin maple and natural walnut. Play & Burn candlesticks can complement these products. After opening the box and discovering the hand-carved wood chips, the drama began. You need to put them together to make your favorite candlestick.

In supersalone Carimali, its new products were displayed: three series inspired by classical architecture, pure geometry and functional design. Among them, we found the Qtime three-hole washbasin: the basic geometric shape of the cylinder engraved the traces of time: the groove of the Doric column engraved the material by generating new classics. Cleverly balanced lines and basic shapes are applied to the main body and spout to achieve a minimal design. Ocube concealed thermostatic shower faucet is famous for its pure and regular shape.

On the occasion of supersalone, Paolo Castelli created several new products. The Comet lamp is a floor lamp with a base in oiled Canaletto walnut or metal with an acid-etched zinc finish and matt satin brass inserts. Ring shade in natural ivory fabric.

The Lens coffee table is a low table with an ivory-colored polished Vicenza stone base composed of three vertical plates connected to a central disc. The top is made of mouth-blown Murano glass, and the internal wave effect enhances the object. The convex surface below the top allows the glass top to be placed inside the base shell.

The U chair is an exquisite chair with a charming shape, protruding depth and a slightly slanted front outline. The structure elegantly surrounds the body, with matte bronze brass finishes or matte black varnish finishes, and dark brown or black leather upholstery with visible stitching (black or dark brown leather is also available). The seat can simply be mounted on the backrest and inserted into the armrest to make it almost look like it is suspended and floating. Provide leather and matching armrests.

On supersalone, although it has not been released recently, the stool with holes that looks like a handmade button caught our attention. Calma's Bolet is made of clay and cork using traditional techniques and painted in natural colors. It can be used as both a stool and a side table. It burns at high temperatures and can withstand extreme changes in temperature, making it ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Using the traditional La Bisbal color glaze, the hardness of the material is softened by the wide natural cork base and three holes on the top, providing a convenient way of movement.

The world-renowned Japanese designer Kenzo Takada launched the K3 brand as a new high-end lifestyle brand dedicated to the "art of life". The K3.png series was unveiled at Maison & Objet in Paris on January 17, 2020.

The name K3 (the number is written as three horizontal lines in Japanese) is derived from Japanese Kanji, which means the number "three", as well as balance and harmony. In order to visually identify the brand, all works display gold ornaments to pay tribute to the Japanese art of repairing broken porcelain or ceramics through the joints of sprayed gold paint.

K3 is known for its sophistication and elegance. The series is organized around three themes: "General", masculine, sober and solemn, mainly in black and white, "Sakura", which embodies harmony and tranquility, including some golden notes and "Maiko" that blend in with a delicate and soft palette. , Vibrant red and pink, pay tribute to the kimono and makeup of young geisha.

The ebony coffee table has a wood fiber structure, and the finish is hand-painted and satin-finished wood with golden Kintsugi decoration. On the Paco bench, you can find a black monochrome geometric and graphic theme that mixes gold and silver. Kasumi cushion combines ivory and cream. Its geometric lines and organic shapes are combined with floral patterns.

Walking in the stands of Supersalone, one cannot be indifferent to De Castelli's "Metal Vibes" installation: an emotional wall reproduces the winding and organic movement, which is composed by a large number of discs with different finishes and oxidation on copper A three-dimensional pattern.

De Castelli also showed off its new products. A small storage table with a diamond-shaped base is called Alpha. The DeErosion copper skin creates a diagonal stripe pattern, enhances the sense of geometry and emphasizes the graphic effect.

Baia is a large table, inspired by the sea scenery of the Venetian Lagoon, with many light blues and greens. The base is composed of two cylindrical copper elements, with curved lines supporting the large top. The result is a sculptural table, an iconic object that becomes the protagonist of the environment.

Caravan is a modular sofa that embodies the harmonious combination between the rigor of metal and the softness of interior decoration. The outline of the cushion is outlined by precious "horse trace" stitching, while the base is defined by the metal geometry. It is available in two, three or four seat sofa and armchair versions.

Elizabeth is a cabinet with a metal plate on the surface of the cabinet, which converts every reflection into light. In the interaction of ventilation and tension, elasticity and tightness, metal vibrates with the rhythm of folds.
