The large number of new yachts released so far in 2021, including yachts completed and under construction, have focused on some of the biggest trends for leading shipbuilders-from environmentally friendly attributes to rock star features.

François Oosthuizen and Yanni Tan collected some of the most impressive ships that we expect to cruise on the high seas soon.

Arriving on our shores in November this year, the new Princess Y72, which was unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, is a leader in collaboration with the famous naval architect Olesinski and the Italian design company Pininfarina. With a total length of 22.8m and a beam of 5.45m, the Y72 is the smallest of the Princess Yacht’s Y-class. However, its stunning exterior design, silver oak interior wood satin finish and clever layout enhance its spaciousness and grandeur, while maximizing storage space.

It has a huge high and low bathing platform that can lift a weight of more than 500 kg, which is very suitable for lifting small boats from the water and storing them on the boat. The back seat area of the main deck features a wrap-around sofa covered with two-tone stainless steel trim headings-this is one of the many subtle style details in Y72.

The area is connected to the internal main deck by a magnificent sliding glass door, leading to the bright and spacious dining and lounge areas, as well as the bar and helm. The salon is equipped with a multi-zone Naim audio system with multi-streaming capabilities and dedicated applications. Many hidden storage areas are located between the furniture and in the side walls.

The aft galley is equipped with a full-height refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove top and other kitchen facilities. The rear lift window of the kitchen also opens upwards as a service hatch, allowing food and beverages to quickly pass through the rear seat area.

The Y72 can accommodate up to 8 guests and provides two smaller cabins, each with two single beds, which can be connected by an electric sliding device. These cottages also share a full bathroom with rain shower. The bow is a VIP cabin with a complete en suite bathroom, day lounge area and a large TV. Port and starboard windows let in plenty of natural light and provide guests with excellent views.

The main cabin can be accessed through a spiral under the main deck and showcases huge side windows and ample space. Behind the full-size bed is an en suite bathroom with men's and women's basins and a large rain shower.

Back on the main deck, there is another seating area at the bow, a huge sunbathing mat for rest and relaxation, a large storage area for lockers, and mooring and anchoring equipment. Finally, on the top of the yacht on the fly bridge is a large U-shaped seating area with a teak table, an L-shaped seat that can be converted into a sunbed, and a bar counter with a barbecue, sink and drawer refrigerator. Its slatted roof can be operated remotely, providing guests with complete comfort.

The special features of this model include: dual MAN V12-1650 (2 x 1650mhp) diesel engines, providing up to 34 knots of power for the yacht; tropical air conditioning; flying bridge hardtop and crane; Ao Nang generator; teak floor; with VF800 Sleipner Vector Fin stabilization system for fins; third station control in the cockpit; and a fresh water manufacturer. Princess Yachts is represented by Boat Lagoon Yachting as its exclusive authorized distributor in Southeast Asia.

This famous Italian yacht manufacturer became famous in the 1970s and is now relaunched by the Seven Stars Pier and Shipyard near Pisa. Its first series is a fully customizable 36m yacht with a streamlined hull designed by Andrea Bacigalupo, one of Leopard's original shipbuilding engineers.

Connoisseurs will recognize the brand's stylish racing lines, meticulous appearance and spacious space, but this new model also has dimensions and elements that other similar yachts do not have. In terms of performance, its speed can reach up to 42 knots, which is more efficient than the original. It will be built at Qixing's shipyard, and the first 36m ship will be ready for launching only 24 months after signing. Monaco broker TWW Yachts will supervise the contract and construction on behalf of the shipowner.

Heesen Yachts’ Project Cosmos is currently under construction. It has a speed of up to 80 meters and a top speed of close to 30 knots. This will be the shipyard's largest yacht so far and the fastest yacht of its kind, marking the first of a series of new technologies by this Dutch company.

The introduction is for speed and size, plus muscle movement and elegant beauty. The combination of speed, aluminum, and length required Heesen to devise a new method to bring longitudinal strength into the design without adding extra weight to the overall structure.

A project of this scale requires epic collaboration: the famous British studio Winch Design designed her exterior, and Sinot designed the interior. Features will include a breathtaking 270-square-meter sunbathing platform (a fully flushed front deck that doubles as a helicopter landing area and a chic outdoor cinema), a 7-meter swimming pool with glass bottom and pouring down from the upper deck Waterfalls, as well as a spectacular beach club and a sunken walking bar.

The interior is inspired by elements of nature, including mathematics, such as the Fibonacci sequence. Glass, natural light and optimized ceiling height create a sense of balance and clean beauty. These details are offset by backlit onyx, crystal glass panels, straw inlays, hardwood floors, silk carpets, leather wall panels and stainless steel.

The yacht will accommodate 12 guests in four suites on the lower deck, a VIP suite with an adjacent private studio on the bridge deck, and an eye-catching master cabin in front of the main deck. 19 crew members in 11 cabins will be able to serve guests discreetly

First introduced in the 1960s, the legendary Motopanfilo made a comeback, retaining her original spirit, but reinterpreting it to exceed modern standards and expectations. Although the design of Benetti's latest Motopanfilo 37m may make no secret of modernity, its roots are firmly rooted in the past; an era full of creativity and vitality.

The eye-catching, unique lines of the bulwark rise up in the middle of the ship, wrap around the ceiling and continue towards the stern, adding a low-key style element. The exterior was designed by Benetti and Francesco Struglia, and the interior was designed by Lazzarini Pickering Architetti.

The contemporary use of beams and mirrors, as well as large windows that magnify the view, enhance the perception of the interior space. There are three spacious deck areas outside, each of which provides a different atmosphere. Other features include a spacious Hampton-style beach club, observation deck, pool lounge off the front deck, and 5 cabins that can accommodate 10 guests.

This new 35.75m model extends Sanlorenzo's long-established series of half-displacement models. Due to its novel configuration, the bow outdoor life is divided into two connected floors: the upper deck and the fore deck, forming a very large open recreation area. The owner can enter directly from his cabin through a sliding hatch, hidden in the connecting two Below the stairs on the deck.

A key innovation highlight is the upper deck, which uses an asymmetrical configuration previously only available for the SL series-providing more space, comfort, flexibility of use and direct views of the sea from both sides. Compared with the previous SD model, this model also has an improved stern area with more space and comfort. When moored, the area becomes a 19-square-meter swimming platform, thanks to a large horizontal hatch that can be opened for diving and sunbathing. Sanlorenzo is exclusively represented by Simpson Yachts in Southeast Asia.

The groundbreaking, environmentally friendly 817 project (not yet named) made its debut in February when it left the yacht manufacturer’s shipyard in Kaag, the Netherlands for sea trials. In recent years, the owner of Project No. 817 has leased almost all Feadships available in the global fleet, with the goal of keeping the environmental impact of this 94m pure custom Feadship at roughly the same level as his previous Feadship, although the length is shortened 32m.

One way to achieve this ambitious goal is to install a very advanced hybrid propulsion system. This will allow Project 817 to travel on diesel power at a comfortable speed of 12 knots in pristine areas that the yacht will explore. Other advanced green technologies deployed include waste treatment plants, heat recovery systems and optimizing air conditioning efficiency-taking into account the yacht’s floor-to-ceiling windows. These huge glass buildings are a prominent feature of the exterior design of Feadship Studio De Voogt and Azure, and they also played a key role in the interior design of the open seaside villa style of Peter Marino Architect.

In the mid-range flybridge market competition, Azimut 53 will officially debut in early 2021. The smooth lines of the yacht conceal its spacious and elegant interiors designed by the Azimut style office. It is an ideal choice for absolutely comfortable long-distance cruises. Similarly, Alberto Mancini's exterior design also has a refined aesthetic.

This 16.78-meter boat has a spacious day area with a kitchen close to the entrance and living area. Non-stop running side windows allow natural light to flow in and provide magnificent water views. The full-height main cabin has plenty of storage space and walk-in closets, while the exterior area of the cockpit with a long and comfortable L-shaped sofa can also be fitted with a bar unit.

The shipbuilding structure developed by the Azimut Benetti R&D team-combined with the option to equip two Volvo Penta IPS 950 propulsion systems-not only ensures a larger shipboard capacity, but also ensures comfort, efficiency and maneuverability sex. The top speed of the two engines is 31 knots and the cruising speed is 27 knots.

OPV 56 is a customized superyacht developed for European shipowners in cooperation with the famous Italian yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni. It underwent a three-month construction at the Antonini Navi Shipyard and was completed in May 2021. The ship has an aluminum hull and a superstructure, with a total length of 56m, with an obvious military style.

The design feature is the majestic high bow to ensure safe navigation, and the simple lines give the ship a unique personality. The continuous front deck is designed to accommodate the helipad, while the upper deck is entirely used for the master suite. With an area of more than 150 square meters, the rear deck is versatile and can be adapted to any solution and customization options.
